ZyXEL introduces new gateways for hospitality environments

Networking vendor ZyXEL Communications is introducing a series of Internet Access Gateways designed specifically for hospitality environments to deliver high speed, always-on, manageable Internet services. The series has two models. The UAG2100 supports up to 200 concurrent devices and the UAG5100 supports up to 800 concurrent devices. Featuring dual-WAN interfaces for service reliability, host data retention for security, bandwidth management and billing capabilities, the new gateways are targeted at hotels, convention centers, public libraries and MTU / MDU facilities.

ZyXEL service gateways are designed with advanced billing, user authentication and access control features that help hospitality locations manage guest accounts, block unauthorized access and limit access abuse through per-account bandwidth management.

The UAG5100 has comprehensive billing features help hospitality venues monetize Internet services or offer them for free. It offers dual-WAN support with load balancing and failover protection offer reliable services to satisfy guests, and has an integrated WLAN controller which manages up to 32 Wi-Fi Access Points, and 10 IPSec VPN tunnels, which make it easy for MSPs to remotely manage and service customer deployments.

The UAG5100 (MSRP: $USD 1299) and UAG2100 (MSRP: $USD 599) will be available beginning August 1, 2014. The UAG5100 supports up to 500 devices out of the box and is upgradable to 800. The UAG2100 supports up to 100 devices out of the box and is upgradable to 200.
