D&H adds free marketing resource for VARs with Partner Services program

D&H Distributing has launched its new Partner Services program, a free service which provides their VARs with a web-based library of marketing materials which they can brand, and which will help them publicize their own offerings and grow their businesses.”SMB-focused VARs typically need assistance with marketing, and who better to do it than D&H,” said Mary Campbell, vice president of marketing at D&H.

The Partner Services program was developed to give VARs free, easy access to materials that can help them align themselves with branded vendors, publicize services, push specific solutions, and educate their local SMB community on how technologies can improve their businesses in general. Many VARs in this space are smaller shops with a minimum of resources to devote to marketing.

“We have gotten the request from companies, to do something like this, but this is the first time we’ve ever done this kind of service,” Campbell said.

The program consists of two separate elements. One is a series of centralized links to vendor logos, product images, collaterals, resource libraries, tutorials, training videos and details regarding specific programs from D&H’s vendor partners.

“Many of our customers already work with the vendors on their own site, but this is putting all the vendors in one place, a concerted effort to have it all in one area,” Campbell said.

The second element is a series of vendor-neutral brochure templates addressing popular topics and hot markets put together by D&H.

“Some of these can be customized by the partner with their own brand,” Campbell said.

Initially, three Partner Services templates will be available, which the partners can send to customers or prospects:

  • Every Small Business Needs a Server
  • The Essentials for Today’s SMB Office
  • The Benefits of a Mobile Workforce”We will continually add to these with new material,” Campbell said. “We know we have to do that or the customers won’t find a use for it.”

    Campbell noted that the site has a feedback mechanism as well, so partners can say what they are looking for if they don’t find it.

    D&H resellers can visit the Partner Services web site at www.dandh.com/partnerservices.

    The plan is to make the service available in Canada as well.

    “It will come to Canada, it’s just a matter of when,” Campbell said. “There is a lot of touch involved here. We don’t want to bring it in before we have the same amount of resources available.”
